Carapace Travel Window

The Carapace Travel Window provides the interface onto the Videotex services available through one or more Carapace Travel Hubs. On startup, it detects the Hubs on your local network and presents the list of services available through these Hubs.

You can display connections to multiple different services at the same time -- useful for comparisons of holidays offered by different companies.

The user interface is split into three panels:

Clicking on the service tree when already connected will create a new window for each new service.

Service Tree Panel

The service tree is used as follows:

Similarly, you can request Videotex prompts or the absence of prompts in a pulldown list. This too is uploaded to the service on automatic logon.

Automatic Logon

Connection to a Videotex service is via a Carapace Travel Hub. This Hub can be configured to hold logon information which is automatically uploaded to the service once a connection has been established.

Emulator Panel

This panel holds a Carapace Emulator which gives you access to the Videotex travel service. The two buttons allow you to:

Information Panel

The administrator for a Travel Hub can record information about each travel service. One common piece of information is the telephone number for the service helpdesk.

The information panel shows a table holding the recorded details.
